Language Arts: Eyewitness Books' Ancient Egypt, Brainstorming,
and Sentences
Welcome to
the ninth week of school. This week’s focus is on Ancient Egypt. We will be reading from Eyewitness Books' Ancient
Egypt focusing on the daily life of ancient Egyptians. In writing we will continue discussing how to brainstorm a response
to a writing prompt and how to write a sentence. Please be sure to discuss with your child the brainstorming process. You,
as parents will either be seeing the Language Arts textbook, practice Book, Reading Journal, Writing Journal, Activity Book
Baggies, or activity sheets coming home for homework.
Math: Addition & Subtraction, Choosing Computation Method

We have enjoyed
Math so far. This week we will enjoy ourselves learning our concepts. We will discuss Adding & Subtracting Whole Numbers,
Choosing a Computation Method When presented with a Word Problem, and evaluating Expressions. You, as parents, will either
be seeing the Mathematics textbook, workbook, Math journal, and/or activity sheets coming home for homework.
Science: Physical Properties of Matter
We will be
learning about Physical Properties of Matter this week. Last week we conducted an experiment about density. This week we hope
to conduct one on buoyancy. You, as parents, will either be seeing the Science textbook, projects, and/or activity sheets
coming home for homework.
